Again, violence mars election in Akuku-Toru

THE Independent National Electoral Commission has shifted the legislative rerun elections in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area to Monday.

Commissioner in charge of South South Zone of INEC, Dr Lecky Mustapha, said violence was responsible for the rescheduling of the election in the area.

Mustapha disclosed this Sunday night while speaking with newsmen at the state INEC office in Port Harcourt.

He recalled that violence was also the reason why the was earlier shifted from Saturday to Sunday.
On the election results, Mustapha explained that only the results of one of the three senatorial districts had been released.

According to him, the results of two House of Representatives seats have been released, while five House of Assembly seats out of the 10 that were contested have also been released.
