Ahead of this Saturday’s national convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abuja, the Kwara state chapter of the party has stated that two groups led by “rogue members” of APC have been compiling fake list of delegates ahead of the convention. Disclosing that the decision to start compiling the fake list was taken in the house of a chieftain of the party in GRA, Ilorin, the party claimed that another group led by some Abuja-based politicians has procured branded buses and banners, vest and Ankara, etc to be used by the fake delegates and had even made accommodation arrangement at Wuse area of Abuja for their wanton delegates. The Publicity Secretary of the party in Kwara, Sulyman Buhari, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday, adding that the two groups have been fishing for people on the streets of Ilorin to use as delegates and begging them to follow them to Abuja with a promise that they would be handsomely paid on their returns. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Alhaji Kunle Suleiman, has warned leaders of the party against accepting the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki back into the party. Suleiman, who gave the warning in Ilorin on Thursday in a press statement claimed that the Senate President is now an anathema in the state. He, therefore, appealed to the leadership of the PDP to stay away from Saraki if the party intended to win Kwara. Suleiman, a lawyer and founding chairman of the PDP in Kwara declared that any association with Saraki would lead to electorate voting against the PDP during elections. “The hope of PDP winning the state would be dashed the moment Saraki is associated with the party because the people have resolved not to go the way of Saraki again,” Suleiman added. Suleiman declared that it was erroneous to regard any group of politicians as new PDP (nPDP). He noted that since a splinter group led by Saraki left the party four years

With the review, BDC operators will now buy the United States dollar from the CBN at N357/$ and sell same at N360, leaving the currency dealers with a margin of N3. The revision also means that BDCs will buy forex at the same rate that banks buy from the CBN for retail transactions such as BTA, PTA and for school fees. Previously, BDCs bought the greenback from the central bank at N360 and sold same at N362 to the dollar. Following the announcement, the naira gained N2 to close at N361 on the parallel market, higher than the N363 at which it sold last Friday. On the Investors’ and Exporters’ window, the naira also gained marginally to close at N361.32 to a dollar Monday, as against N361.12 last Friday.
