President Muhammadu Buhari and his United States, US, counterpart, Donald Trump are currently meeting in Washington. The meeting was confirmed by Buhsri’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Ahmad Bashir, via his Twitter handle. The meeting holding at the Oval office, is centered around “Security, Economy, Nigeria-US relationships.” The tweet reads, “President @MBuhari and US President @realDonaldTrump are now meeting in the Oval Office. Security, Economy, Nigeria-US relationships top the agenda. #PMBinDC.” Buhari had last week departed Nigeria for US on a official working visit.

US President  Donald Trump  has invited  President Muhammadu Buhari  over to the White House on April 30,  This was made known in a statement released by the White House, which said Trump is looking forward to discussing how the 2 countries can enhance their partnership. “The relationship of the United States with Nigeria is deep and strong, and Nigeria’s economic growth, security, and leadership in Africa will advance our mutual prosperity,” the statement read. President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities. The priorities are said to include: “promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region.”

Theresa May, Donald Trump and even Barack and Michelle Obama have been left off the guest list Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have chosen not to invite politicians to their wedding next month, Kensington Palace has announced. “It has been decided that an official list of political leaders - both UK and international - is not required” for the wedding, a spokesperson said yesterday. The decision means Prime Minister Theresa May, US President Donald Trump, and Barack and Michelle Obama will not attend the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on 19 May. There had been speculation that the Obamas might attend the nuptials, as the Prince became friendly with the former president during the Invictus Games. The guest list has reportedly been “restricted to those who have a direct relationship with the couple” because of the small size of the venue, and because Harry is not in the direct line of succession, royal sources told the

The opposition party’s candidate, Rtd Brig Julius Madaa Bio of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has been declared the winner of the March 31 Sierra Leone Presidential run-off election. According to the result announced by the Sierra Leone’s National Electoral Commission (NEC) on Wednesday in Freetown, Bio received 1,319,406 votes, representing 51.81 per cent of the total valid votes cast, 2,546,577, to defeat the candidate of the ruling party, NAN reports. According to the result, Kamara Wilson of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) polled 1,227,171 votes, representing 48.19 per cent of the valid votes cast.
