#OneVoiceNigeria protest takes off in Abuja

The Occupy Nigeria protest has taken off in Abuja in spite of the opposition to the procession by the police.

Youths numbering about 100 are currently marching along the Shehu Shagari Way, Central Business District chanting protest songs.

The youths mostly dressed in different shades of green and carrying placards and banners with various inscriptions  are causing traffic gridlock on the busy road.

The procession, which took off from the Unity Fountain, Maitama, appears to be heading to the Presidential Villa junction.

A Department of State Service assault team in a patrol van was seen providing security for the procession.

No policeman was in sight.

Details soon.
