President Muhammadu Buhari has presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting today at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was also in attendance at the meeting.
The Ministers present at the meeting include the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; the Minister of Health, Issac Adewole; the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kayode Fayemi; the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, the Minister of Women Affairs, Senator Aisha Alhassan, among others.
Over 45, 000 Zulu maidens successfully went through virginity testing in their districts throughout the province participated in the annual Reed Dance (Umkhosi Womhlanga) which started at the Enyokeni Palace of King Goodwill Zwelithini on Friday, September 8. Virginity testing (ukuhlolwa kwezintombi ) is an ancient Zulu tradition that is regarded as an important rite of passage to womanhood.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday charged the Ambassadors-designate, who were recently cleared by the Senate, to change the narrative of Nigeria as seen by the outside world. President Buhari gave the assurance on Monday in Abuja while declaring open an induction course organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Nigerian Career Ambassadors-designate. The Ambassadors-designate were recently cleared by the Senate. He specifically charged the Ambassadors-designate to change the narrative of Nigeria outside the country by playing up the positive values and outstanding contributions of Nigerians in the global arena.
