Spain ban on Brit tourists could last until next year with fears of second virus wave

It's "unlikely" Brits will be able to travel to favourite hotspots on the Costa del Sol or anywhere else in Spain this summer, with travel bans being extended until June at the earliest

Brits won't be able to go and soak up the sun in Spain until at least mid-June – but there's a chance holidaymakers will be denied entry until next year.

Spain is beginning to ease its own social distancing measures after its devastating coronavirus outbreak, but the government remains anxious about a second wave.

A state of emergency was declared on March 14, which included significant restrictions on movement throughout the country as well as strict new rules about entering Spain.

It has now extended its ban on travellers until June 15, except for exceptional circumstances.

Anyone who enters the country, including Spanish nationals, will have to self-isolate for 14 days.
