Ras Kimono’s wife, Efemena dies
Efe Okedi, the wife of late Reggae singer, Ras Kimono has died. According to our source, Efe who reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday was said to have attended a family function on Saturday. It was reported that she started complaining of ill health and was rushed to the hospital. She reportedly died on the way to get medical attention. Okedi was also Kimono’s manager and a member of his band while he was alive. Her death comes three months after the ‘Rhumba Stylee’ singer died on June 10 in a Lagos hospital. Okedi was the third wife of the music legend.
Breaking: INEC fixes sept 27 for Osun election re-run
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Sunday announced that the Osun gubernatorial election which was earlier declared inconclusive would hold its re-run on Thursday, 27 September. Disclosing this after due consultation with political parties’ agents at the INEC office in Osogbo, the INEC’s Chief Returning Officer in Osun State, Joseph Adeola Fuwape, according to our source, opined that PDP secured a total vote of 254,698 with APC candidate seconding with 254,345 votes. PDP used a margin of 353 votes to top APC.

Earth Tremor Rocks Abuja
Panic gripped some residents in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after they experienced earth tremor on Wednesday night. The areas where the earth tremor was pronounced were Mpape and parts of Maitama districts. A resident of Mpapae, Fatima Ahmedu described the experience as frightening. She said her building was shaken by the unusual movement first noted about 7p.m., which caused her to run out of the building out of fear. Ahmedu said the unusual movement occurred about three times and caused the people living in Mpape to live in fear throughout the night. For several decades, quarrying activities and rock blasting have been ongoing in Mpape in Bwari Area Council. But the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has attributed the cause of the tremor to seismic movement within the earth.

Summit: Buhari arrives China
President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday arrived in Beijing, China, to participate in the 7th Summit of the Forum on China — Africa Cooperation. The president’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Alhaji Bashir Ahmad, who is on the president’s entourage to China, confirmed this on his twitter handle on Saturday. He posted: “President Muhammadu Buhari arrives in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China to participate in the 7 th Summit of the Forum on China — Africa Cooperation (FOCAC2018).’’ The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari left Abuja on Friday for the summit after receiving the German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
